Senior Consultant, Strategy and Operations
This role is ideal for an experienced management consultant who wants meaningful client exposure, early ownership, and the opportunity to make a real impact, all within a great team environment.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Consultant, Strategy and Operations, you’ll take ownership of key workstreams, guide junior consultants, and work directly with clients on their toughest challenges. You’ll have significant autonomy, with direct exposure to senior leadership at Burnie Group and to our clients.
In this role, you’ll work directly with clients and collaborate with a diverse team of consultants, analysts, project managers, and subject matter experts to deliver exceptional results.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Provide strategic advice and in-depth analysis to design and implement recommendations for strategy and operations.
- Own workstreams or manage smaller projects, ensuring deliverables are on track.
- Guide and validate work completed by junior team members, supporting them through different phases of a project lifecycle.
- Develop materials, deliver client presentations, and participate in or lead workshops with client teams.
- Work side by side with clients to implement recommendations and track their impact.
- Support with the creation of proposals and other business development activities.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
- Education: Undergraduate degree with strong academic performance; an MBA or a Master’s is an asset
- Professional Experience: 3+ years in strategy and/or operations consulting at a globally recognized or boutique consulting firm is required.
- Industry Experience: Experience in Financial Services, Insurance (Life & P&C), Tech-enabled businesses, Software, or Senior Living is an asset.
- Technology Experience: Familiarity with technology strategy and its impact on businesses is an asset.
- Problem Solving: Proficiency with structured problem-solving tools such as hypothesis-driven approaches, issue trees, process mapping, and root-cause analysis.
- Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and modelling abilities with advanced Excel proficiency to analyze and interpret data.
- Strategic Thinking & Thought Leadership: Ability to think critically, question the status quo, and bring forward innovative ideas. Skilled at uncovering insights, asking critical questions, and developing and validating hypotheses, while staying current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Communication Skills: Proficient in both written and oral communication, with strong storytelling abilities, and skilled in utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint. Ability to distill complex strategies and ideas into clear, simple, and easily digestible insights.
- Adaptability & Agility: Capacity to think on your feet, embrace new challenges, and deal with ambiguity.
